About

Rockin’ River Ranch State Park is a 209-acre day-use park located at the confluence of West Clear Creek and the Verde River. This peaceful former ranch now provides bountiful wildlife viewing opportunities. Trails wind through a mature mesquite bosque and under towering sycamore and cottonwood trees along the banks of the Verde River. This scenic riparian area provides rich habitat for birds and wildlife like javelina, deer, beaver, and otters.

What You'll See

Rockin’ River Ranch contains two distinct ecosystems, a riparian ecosystem along the river, along with a high desert ecosystem, which allows visitors to observe diverse wildlife and habitat. The high desert hosts a variety of reptiles, birds, and mammals that have adapted to an arid climate. Along the Verde River, visitors can observe beavers, otters, and birds that rely on the water that is highly important to the arid climate nearby.

Getting There

Rockin’ River Ranch is located in Camp Verde, Arizona, just 90 miles north of Phoenix. The park is located off Salt Mine Rd, about 8 miles off of Hwy 17.
